Paying attention to where you’re holding your fat gives us an insight into the underlying imbalances that may be causing weight loss resistance.
This is just a guide. Genetics play a role too
Stubborn belly fat: this could indicate insulin resistance, cortisol issues or low oestrogen
Chest and Neck fat (less common): can indicate extreme cortisol issues
Inability to build muscle mass/ bingo wings: could indicate low testosterone levels.
Fat on the breasts, hips, thighs, bottom: typically indicates oestrogen dominance/ low progesterone.
Whole body fat: may be a sign of thyroid problems or leptin resistance.
Assessing where you’re storing your fat is just one way of gaining insight into what’s causing this stubborn weight and therefore, how to get rid of it too!
While you can’t target where you lose your weight from with diet and exercise, you can target fat gain that’s caused by hormones, by rebalancing them.
